James Thompson, Director of Data Science & Engineering

James completed his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of York and his D.Phil at Wadham College and the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory of the University of Oxford. He then completed post-doctoral research work at Oxford, Harvard Medical School and USC. Formerly the Vice President of Data Science and Software Engineering at an energy startup, and Chief Data Scientist at Doctrly, a healthcare security-platform company, James leverages his combined experience in data science, software engineering and security to build data tools and software within Parsley Health’s engineering team. He is particularly interested in software correctness, testing and building scalable secure systems. In his spare time he enjoys renovating his house with his wife, cooking and reading.
