I am a Medicare beneficiary. What does this mean for potential coverage?

If you have Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan (like Aetna Medicare or UnitedHealthcare Medicare), Parsley Health is considered out-of-network. Our clinicians have officially opted out of Medicare, which means we’re unable to bill Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans for services—and members cannot submit claims for reimbursement. You’re still welcome to join Parsley through our cash-pay membership, which gives you full access to our care outside of insurance. As part of enrollment, you'll sign a Medicare Agreement confirming that neither you nor Parsley Health will submit claims to Medicare for reimbursement.

Can my primary care physician (PCP) complete testing ordered by Parsley Health?

Yes. If your primary care physician is open to it, they can order some or all of the tests recommended by your Parsley clinician. Keep in mind: some advanced or non-routine markers may not be covered through your PCP or insurance.If that's the case, your Parsley clinician can adjust the order and coordinate any remaining testing through a trusted lab partner.If you purchase the Labs Membership, you must run those tests through Parsley Health.

I have out of network coverage. Can I use that for Parsley?

Can my clinician prescribe medication?

Yes. Prescription drugs are one of the most powerful tools of modern medicine. They are critical healers in the Parsley toolkit, and we prescribe them regularly. Some medications, however, do require management by specialists, and are not appropriate for Parsley providers to prescribe.All of our clinicians have been trained in conventional allopathic or osteopathic medical schools, physician assistant schools, or nursing schools. They are licensed to practice medicine in their state, and have state DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) licensing to allow for prescribing pharmaceutical medication. As such, prescription drugs are a key part of Parsley’s care, and we believe they are powerful and essential tools in modern medicine. However, we cannot prescribe controlled substances or scheduled medications.
