Our Favorite Inner and Outer Natural Beauty Rituals

October 1, 2019

It’s no secret that CAP Beauty is our go-to spot for all things natural beauty. Located in the West Village, CAP Beauty’s shelves are lined with 100% natural products (meaning you can truly relax at their spa knowing their facials and massages are free of synthetic chemicals)!

We believe so deeply in their philosophy and have teamed up with them for The Program – a 10 day journey of self-love, nourishment, thoughtful exercise and delicious food. As we all embark on The Program this week we turned to the CAP Beauty team to learn about the inner and outer natural beauty rituals they swear by all year long.

We live by the motto that beauty is wellness and wellness is beauty. The advice we always give is that to radiate on the outside, you must nurture yourself on the inside. We believe that self care is the most important part of any beauty routine. Pick up a few of these habits and watch as they deliver you to your most vibrant self.

1.  Tonic Making

It’s no secret we’re obsessed with Sun Potion, but our love for tonic making goes way beyond our signature CAP Beauty Elixir (He Shou Wu + Tocos + Coconut Butter). We sip these nutritionally-packed powerhouse brews all day, every day. Whether it be Pine Pollen, Ashitaba, Rhodiola or Anandamide, we love it all. When used over time, we’ve witnessed them being truly transformational on our quest for radiant skin, lustrous hair, strong nails and overall vitality.

2. Dry Brushing
We love dry brushing for its ability to exfoliate, detoxify and energize. All within five minutes. It’s the perfect way to get your lymphatic system moving and your blood flowing. Pick up your dry brush, hop in the shower and get glowing. For an added bonus, let the water run cold for a minute or two to stimulate circulation before getting out.

3. Detox Baths

Take a timeout to nourish your body, mind and spirit. Detox baths like Mustard Baths and Salt Baths are ancient anti-inflammatory remedies that treat everything from dry skin and sore muscles to the common cold. Baths heat up the body to purge toxins, promote elimination and neutralize acidic waste. Make sure to sip water while you soak, as these baths will make you sweat. Especially the mustard bath. A lot. Learn to embrace it because radiance awaits.

4. Meditation

We can’t help but agree with Dr. Berzin when she says “the best thing to do for your health is meditation.” When meditating, every cell in the body is filled with prana, resulting in mental benefits like increased levels of peace, clarity, creativity and happiness. On a physical level vitality increases and blood pressure lowers. We love to find a comfortable spot, let go of all worries and just sit. A little goes a long way. The difference you feel when meditating regularly is life-enhancing to say the least.

5. Massage

Incorporating massage into your nighttime routine will encourage a peaceful night sleep fit for a queen. Massaging your body stimulates circulation, increases endorphin levels and oxygenates your muscles to leave you feeling your best. In Ayurveda, the practice of self massage is encouraged as it solidifies a deep self love. Double the detoxifying power and use self massage as the perfect precursor to a detox bath.

Parsley Health is the only medical practice that leverages personalized testing with whole body treatments.
